Good Morning. Today we’re going to build off the same theme we have been covering the last few devotions (The commandments.)

📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion

When people talk about love languages, they mean the ways we give and receive love. Some value words of affirmation. Others value gifts, time, acts of service, or touch. But have you ever thought about what God’s love language is? Scripture tells us clearly how He wants us to show Him love.

In John 14:15 Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands.” God’s love language is obedience. Not because He is controlling, but because He knows obedience flows from trust. When we obey, we show that we believe His ways are good and that we want to live in close fellowship with Him.

Obedience begins with the heart. Jesus warned against honoring God with lips while the heart is far away. He does not want empty rituals. He wants genuine love that leads to action. 1 John 5:3 says, “In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” God’s instructions are not chains meant to weigh us down. They are gifts meant to guide us into freedom and life.

Another way we show love to God is through worship. Worship is not only about singing on Sundays. It is about honoring Him with our whole lives. Romans 12:1 calls us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, for this is true and proper worship. Every time you choose faithfulness over sin, generosity over greed, or prayer over worry, you are worshiping Him.

Jesus also taught that loving others is part of loving God. When asked what the greatest commandment was, He said the first is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37–39). The way we treat others reflects the depth of our love for Him. When we forgive, serve, and show compassion, we are speaking His love language.

So how do we love God in daily life? We obey His Word because we trust Him. We worship Him not just with songs but with every choice we make. We love others in tangible ways that reflect His heart. These are not separate boxes to check. They are one way of life rooted in love for God.

Love is not just something we feel toward God. It is something we live out. He has already shown us His love through the cross. The best way to respond is to give Him our hearts, our obedience, our worship, and our love for others.

God’s love language is not complicated. It is not about doing more to earn His love. It is about walking with Him, trusting Him, and showing through your life that you belong to Him. That is how you say “I love You” to God.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

Adoration: Lord, You are worthy of all love and obedience. You are faithful and true in everything You do.

Confession: I confess that I often say I love You but fail to live it out in action. Forgive me for when my heart and my life do not match.

Thanksgiving: Thank you for showing Your love first through Jesus on the cross. Thank you for giving commands that lead to life and freedom.

Supplication: Help me to love You with my whole heart by obeying Your word each day. Teach me to worship You not just in words but in the way I live.

In Jesus name, Amen
