📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion

The Bible isn’t just one big book. It’s a whole library. It’s made up of sixty-six smaller books, written by more than forty different people over about fifteen hundred years. These writers lived in different times and places, spoke different languages, and came from different walks of life. Some were kings, others were farmers, fishermen, prophets, or doctors.

And yet, all of them told the same story. That’s what makes the Bible so amazing. It fits together perfectly. The reason it fits is because God is the true Author.

The Bible says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). That means the words were written by people, but the message came from Him. God spoke through them by His Spirit so that what they wrote would be exactly what He wanted us to hear.

The Bible is divided into two parts:

• The Old Testament, which was written before Jesus came, and

• The New Testament, which was written after He came.

The Old Testament tells how God created the world, how sin entered it, and how He chose a people called Israel to show His plan to save us. It includes history, poetry, and prophecy. Over and over again, it points forward to a Savior who would one day come.

Then the New Testament tells the story of that Savior, Jesus Christ. It tells how He was born, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again. It also shows how the first believers spread the message of salvation to the world.

Even though the Bible was written a long time ago, it is still alive today. Hebrews 4:12 says God’s Word is “living and active.” That means it still speaks. It teaches us who God is, what He wants for us, and how much He loves us.

The Bible also shows us how to live. It is like a light that helps us see where we are going. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” When life feels dark or confusing, the Bible shows the way.

The Bible is not just about rules. It is about relationship. It is how God talks to us. Every page shows His heart and His plan to bring us back to Him.

That is why we can trust it completely. Jesus Himself said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

So what is the Bible? It is God’s story, and it is your story too. It tells where we came from, why we need Jesus, and how we can live forever with Him. It is not just another book to read. It is a book that reads you. It changes hearts. It brings life.
