📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion
When the Bible calls someone God fearing, it is not describing a person who is scared of God. It is describing someone who deeply respects and honors Him.
To fear God means to recognize who He truly is: holy, powerful, just, and loving. It is about standing in awe of Him and letting that awareness shape how you live.
In the book of Acts, a man named Cornelius is called “a devout man who feared God with all his household” (Acts 10:2). Cornelius prayed constantly, gave to those in need, and led his family in faith. He was not terrified of God. He respected Him so deeply that it changed his life. His reverence led to obedience, and God noticed.
That is what being God fearing really looks like. It means living in a way that shows you take God seriously.
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” That means true understanding starts with knowing who God is. When you realize He created you, knows everything about you, and will one day judge all things rightly, it changes how you think and act. You begin to seek His will, not your own.
In Exodus 20:20, right after God gave the Ten Commandments, Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” Notice the difference. Moses said, “Do not be afraid,” but also said the “fear of God” would guide them. It is not about panic. It is about reverence. That kind of fear keeps your heart steady and your life clean.
Job was also called a man who “feared God and shunned evil” (Job 1:1). Even when he lost everything, he did not curse God. His respect for God was stronger than his pain. Job’s story shows that being God fearing does not mean life is easy. It means you trust God even when life is hard.
When you truly fear God, you begin to see sin for what it is, not just a mistake but something that separates you from the One you love. A God fearing heart is humble. It listens, obeys, and honors God even when no one is watching. It remembers that He is holy and still merciful enough to call us His own.
To be God fearing is to live with awe, obedience, and love. It is to remember that the same God who spoke the universe into existence also listens when you pray. When you understand that, you will want to walk with Him every day.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)
When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.
Adoration: Lord, You are holy, powerful, and full of mercy. You deserve all honor and praise.
Confession: Forgive me for the times I have treated You lightly or followed my own way instead of Yours.
Thanksgiving: Thank you for Your patience, Your Word, and the chance to walk closely with You daily.
Supplication: Teach me to live with reverence and obedience. Help me to fear You rightly and love You deeply.
In Jesus name, Amen
