📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion

The most repeated command in the Bible isn’t “love your neighbor” or “pray.” It’s this: Do not be afraid. More than 300 times, God or His messengers say those exact words. That’s more than any other instruction.

Why? Because fear is the enemy of faith. Fear whispers that God cannot be trusted. Fear makes us hide, like Adam and Eve did in the garden. Fear makes us doubt, like Israel at the edge of the Promised Land. Fear makes us freeze when God is calling us forward. God knows fear will try to control us at every step, so He reminds us again and again: do not be afraid.

When Joshua had to lead after Moses’ death, God told him not to fear because He would be with him wherever he went. When the angel came to Mary with the news that she would carry Jesus, the first words were do not be afraid. When shepherds saw the sky light up with angels announcing the birth of Christ, again the words were do not be afraid. Every time God was about to do something big, He started by removing fear.

Jesus repeated the same message. When the disciples panicked in a storm, He said, “Take courage. It is I. Do not be afraid. And when He appeared to John after His resurrection, His words were simple: “Do not be afraid. I am the Living One… I am alive forever and ever.”

The pattern is clear. God never tells us not to fear without giving us a reason. The command is always linked to a promise. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be afraid, because I will strengthen you. Do not be afraid, because Christ has overcome death itself.

The fact that this is the most repeated command in Scripture tells us something important. Fear is the most common struggle, but God’s presence is the most constant answer. The more we trust that He is with us, the less power fear has over us.

So today, hear God’s most repeated words as if they were spoken directly to you: Do not be afraid. I am with you.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

  1. Adoration: Lord Your are the Almighty God, strong and faithful. You are my refuge, my strength, and the One who holds my life in Your hands.

  2. Confession: I confess that I often let fear control me. Forgive me for the times I have let fear be louder than faith.

  3. Thanksgiving: Thank You for reminding me that You are always with me. Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins, so that I can live without fear.

  4. Supplication: Father, help me live today with courage. Fill me with faith the overcomes fear.

    In Jesus name, Amen
