Good Morning. In a world full of fear, uncertainty, and loss, Jesus’ words to the thief on the cross remind us that even when death feels final, He still offers life.

πŸ“– Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion

The cross was meant to be a place of shame, suffering, and finality. For most, it marked the end of hope. Yet in the middle of this darkest scene in history, we find one of the brightest beams of grace.

Two criminals hung beside Jesus. One mocked Him, demanding proof of His divinity. The other, however, saw something different. In his dying breaths, he admitted his guilt and recognized Christ’s innocence. He turned with a simple request: β€œJesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

This thief had nothing to offer. No reputation to protect, no good works to present, no chance to turn his life around. By the standards of the world, his story was already over. Yet Jesus’ reply shattered every assumption about how salvation works. He said, β€œTruly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Notice the details of this promise. First, β€œtoday.” Jesus did not say someday or after a long process of making up for sins. He said today. This shows us the immediacy of salvation. The moment we put our trust in Christ, we are forgiven and welcomed into eternal life. There is no waiting period or probationary season. Grace is instant.

Second, β€œyou.” Jesus did not speak in generalities. He did not say some people or the worthy. He looked directly at this broken man and offered a personal promise. The same is true for us. Salvation is not just an abstract idea, it is God’s personal invitation to each of us, no matter our past.

Third, β€œwith me.” This may be the most beautiful part. Heaven is not just about escaping pain or enjoying paradise, it is about being with Jesus. Eternal life is defined by His presence. The greatest gift of salvation is not what we gain but who we gain, Christ Himself.

Finally, β€œin paradise.” The thief’s suffering was real, but it was not the end. Jesus gave him the assurance that death would give way to life, pain would give way to peace, and despair would give way to joy. For every believer, paradise is the destiny that waits on the other side of the cross.

This encounter reminds us that salvation is not earned. It is not a reward for those who have lived well or accomplished much. It is a gift of grace, freely offered to those who call upon Jesus in faith. The thief on the cross had nothing to bring, but he had everything to gain. And so do we.

In our darkest trials, whether fear, grief, or guilt, the promise of Jesus still stands. He meets us right where we are, with mercy stronger than our mistakes. If He could save a dying criminal in his final hour, He can certainly save us today. With Jesus, we will prevail.

πŸ™ Prayer (Guided by ACTS)

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

  1. Adoration: Lord, You are sovereign even when the world feels shattered. You are the God of justice, peace, and mercy.

  2. Confession: Forgive us for letting hatred and division live in our hearts. Forgive us when we lose faith in Your goodness in the face of evil.

  3. Thanksgiving: Thank You for the promise of paradise, the hope of salvation, and the assurance that death is never the end with Christ.

  4. Supplication: Comfort Charlie Kirk’s family in their grief. Heal our broken nation. Bring peace to a world marked by violence and remind us that only in You can true hope and unity be found.

In Jesus name, Amen
