π Verse Of The Day

π§ Devotion
(A devotion inspired by the ACTS model)
If youβve been reading along for a while, you know that at the end of every devotion we include a prayer guided by ACTS.
That stands for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication.
Now, the ACTS model isnβt something straight from the Bible β itβs a simple tool that helps us pray with focus and balance. But itβs deeply inspired by the way Jesus Himself taught us to pray in Matthew 6, when He gave us what we now call the Lordβs Prayer.
When Jesus said, βThis, then, is how you should pray,β He showed us a rhythm that keeps our hearts centered on God β and that same rhythm is what ACTS is built on.
Letβs look at how they connect:
A β Adoration
βOur Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.β
Prayer begins with worship. We start by recognizing who God is β holy, powerful, loving, and near. Psalm 145:3 reminds us, βGreat is the Lord and most worthy of praise.β
C β Confession
βForgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.β
Before we ask for anything, we come honestly before God and ask for His forgiveness. This clears our hearts and restores our closeness with Him.
T β Thanksgiving
βGive us today our daily bread.β
We thank God for His daily provision β not just for food, but for strength, wisdom, peace, and everything we depend on Him for. Gratitude keeps our hearts humble.
S β Supplication
βYour kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heavenβ¦
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.β
This is where we bring our requests to God β praying for His will to be done, for His protection, and for His guidance in every part of our lives.
So while ACTS is not a command from Scripture, it mirrors the same pattern Jesus gave us. It helps us keep prayer from becoming a list of wishes and instead makes it a time of worship, honesty, gratitude, and trust.
Prayer is not about saying the right words. Itβs about having the right heart.
So the next time you pray, try using ACTS as a guide β and remember how Jesus said to begin: focused on the Father, trusting His will, thanking Him for His goodness, and asking for His guidance.

π Prayer (Guided by ACTS)
When youβre not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.
Adoration: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Confession: And forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Thanksgiving: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread.
Supplication: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, forever, amen.
