📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion
It is easy to feel like the best part of life is behind you. The children are grown, the career is finished, the pace is slower. The world often suggests that old age is the closing chapter, the winding down of the story. But the Bible tells us something very different. With God, your story is never over.
Abraham and Sarah were well past their child bearing years when God gave them Isaac. Sarah even laughed when she first heard the promise. Yet God proved that age was no barrier to His plan. Their laughter turned from doubt to joy when they held their son.
Moses was eighty years old when God called him from the burning bush to lead Israel out of Egypt. By human standards, Moses’ story should have been finished. He was a shepherd in the desert, tending sheep far from the life he once knew. But God saw him differently. His greatest work was still ahead.
And Caleb, at eighty five, stood before Joshua and declared, “Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me… I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out.” Caleb was not ready to fade quietly into the background. He knew that if God had kept him alive, then God still had purpose for him.
These stories remind us that God is not bound by age. He does not measure our usefulness by birthdays or calendars. Instead, He looks at our faith, our willingness, and our obedience. As long as He gives us breath, He gives us purpose.
Maybe your later years will not be about starting a new career or raising a family. But your prayers can shape the lives of your grandchildren. Your testimony can steady the faith of someone younger. Your wisdom can guide a friend who is walking through a trial you have already endured. Your story is not over. God is still writing.
When you feel sidelined or forgotten, remember this. Every day you wake up is another page in God’s book for your life. Some of His most powerful stories are written in ink that comes with age.
So do not hang up your purpose. Do not believe the lie that your best days are behind you. If you belong to Christ, your story is still unfolding, and the Author has a perfect ending in mind.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)
When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.
Adoration: Lord, You are the Author of our lives, and You never stop writing.
Confession: Forgive us for the times we have doubted that You still have a plan for us.
Thanksgiving: Thank you for the years behind us and for the years still ahead. Thank You that everyday has meaning in Your hands.
Supplication: Use us, Lord, in every year. Show us how to bear fruit, encourage others, and live with purpose until out story is complete in your presence.
In Jesus name, Amen
