Good Morning. “God is greater than highs and lows” is one of the most popular Christian quotes that isn’t actually a bible verse. But today we’ll see how the verse of the day shows that it almost is.

📖 Verse Of The Day

🧠 Devotion

The phrase “God is greater than the highs and lows” has become one of the most popular Christian sayings of our time. You see it on jewelry, clothing, stickers, and even tattoos. People shorten it into a simple symbol that looks like G > ^ v. It is short, it is memorable, and it resonates because it puts into four characters what Romans 8:38–39 declares with powerful words.

At its core, the saying is a reminder that no matter what season of life you are in, God does not change. The highs represent the times when everything is going well. You feel accomplished, life feels good, and prayers seem answered. The lows represent the struggles and the valleys. You may feel forgotten, overlooked, or worn down. Both extremes can distract us from God. In the highs we can grow proud and think we do not need Him. In the lows we can grow discouraged and believe He has abandoned us. The symbol speaks truth to both lies. God is greater than pride and God is greater than despair.

Romans 8 tells us that nothing in creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ. Notice how Paul makes his point. He lists opposites: life and death, present and future, angels and demons, height and depth. He covers the spectrum from one end to the other and then says nothing in between has the power to remove us from God’s love. That is the same truth expressed in the G > ^ v symbol. Whatever direction life pulls you, God’s love is greater.

This is more than a comforting slogan. It is a statement of reality. God’s love is not conditional on your mood, your circumstances, or your performance. When you are on the mountaintop and everything is falling into place, God is still the one who deserves your gratitude and praise. When you are in the valley and nothing seems to work out, God is still the one who holds you steady and keeps you in His love. His greatness does not change with your highs and lows.

So when you see the symbol, let it remind you of more than a catchy design. Let it remind you of the unshakable truth that God’s love is greater than every high point and every low point in your story. That is why the saying is true. It is simply Romans 8 put into a symbol we can remember.
