Good Morning. C.S. Lewis once wrote, “I am sure that God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait.”

And if there was ever a time we needed that reminder, it is today, when everything around us is catered toward instant gratification.

đź“– Verse Of The Day

“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.”

— Lamentations 3:25

🧠 Devotion

One of the hardest lessons in life is learning that God’s timing does not move at the speed we want. We live in a world of instant results: instant shipping, instant replies, instant gratification. But God does not work on our clock. He works on His.

When the Israelites wandered in the desert, God had already promised them a land of their own. Instead of a straight path to the promise, they spent forty years waiting. To them, it may have felt like God had changed His mind. In reality, the delay was shaping them. Those who grew bitter missed out. Those who trusted Him saw the promise fulfilled.

Joseph’s story tells us the same. After being betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and locked in prison, Joseph had every reason to believe God had said “no” to his dream. What looked like denial was really “not yet.” Years later, Joseph rose to second-in-command over Egypt, and the very delays became the reason he was positioned to save countless lives.

This is where we often get it wrong. We pray, we hope, we step out in faith, and then, when the answer does not come quickly, we assume it is a denial. But God’s delays are not rejections. More often, they are seasons of preparation, protection, or growth.

Lamentations 3:25 reminds us, “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Waiting is not wasted time. It is the place where God works in us quietly, often more deeply than when life feels like it is moving forward.

Think of it like a seed underground. On the surface, it looks like nothing is happening. In the unseen, roots are forming, life is stirring, and growth is preparing to break through. The waiting does not prove the promise is dead. It proves the promise is alive.

If you find yourself in a season of waiting, do not confuse it with denial. Do not give up. God may be protecting you from something you cannot yet see. He may be building strength in you for what is ahead. Or He may be preparing a blessing so much greater than you imagined that it takes longer to get ready.

🙏 Prayer (Guided by ACTS)

When you’re not sure how to pray, A.C.T.S. gives you a simple path to follow: Adore, Confess, Thank, and Ask.

  1. Adoration: God, You are faithful and good. Your timing is perfect, and Your way is higher than mine.

  2. Confession: Forgive me for the times that I grow impatient, doubt Your plan, or mistake waiting for rejection.

  3. Thanksgiving: Thank you for being patient with me, for using season of delay to strengthen my faith, and for never wasting the waiting.

  4. Supplication: Help me to trust you more deeply in this season. Teach me to wait with faith and to see delays as preparation for the promises you have ahead.

In Jesus name, Amen
